BILLET GRINDING WHEEL
Billet Grinding is the conditioning of billets, blooms, slabs and ingots in large and medium size steel industries to remove defects such as surface cracks, seams, pin holes, slag patches etc. The advantages of this operation are reduced cost and higher productivity as compared t0 Scarfing and milling. Billet grinding wheels are large wheels of 400mm diameter and above, upto 600 mm, Cold Pressed resinoid bond wheels are available for speeds upto 48 m/s. These are used on swingframe grinders with head leads up to 200 kgs. Hot Pressed resinoid bond wheels are available for speeds of 45, 60 & 80 mls
